CIMORELLI :)

Born in the Sacramento area, Christina (19), Katherine (18), Lisa (16), Amy (15), and Lauren (11), and Dani (10) all began singing in harmony and playing the piano around the age of 4. The exception was Christina, who climbed up on the bench and started playing the piano by ear at two years old.
The first public performances began when Christina, Katherine, and Lisa joined their church's children’s choir at ages 9, 8, and 6 yrs. old. There they received classical training as they sang in two-part harmony on pieces by Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and Handel, as well as traditional hymns. Within a couple of years, they began singing three-part barbershop and vocal jazz arrangements as a trio and started performing locally.
In 2002, they started performing in musical theater along with Amy. As Lauren and Dani became old enough (five years old), they joined the theater company, too. For the next five years, they performed in an average of 3-4 productions per year, including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Anything Goes, 42nd St, High School Musical 1 and 2, The Jungle Book, Hello Dolly, and The Wizard of Oz, among others. Christina and Katherine received Elly Awards for Best Supporting Actress in productions of The Wizard of Oz and 42nd St respectively.
In 2007, the oldest five girls decided to form "Cimorelli" and put their focus on writing, recording, performing, and making videos.
Christina and Lauren play keyboards, Amy plays rhythm guitar, Katherine plays bass, and Lisa plays the drums. Older brother Michael, who has had a guitar attached to his body since he was eleven, occasionally joins them onstage as the lead guitarist. Christina is the principal songwriter (although all contribute), and all harmonies are written by Christina and Lisa.
In August 2008, Cimorelli did 11 performances at the California State Fair, which led to a full calendar of performances ever since at various venues. They released their first CD in December 2008.
In August 2009, they became something of a youtube sensation with their acapella recording of Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA", which has now surpassed 2 million views. This led to a series of other videos which have gone viral, representation by Crown Music Management, appearances on Sac & Co TV show, an interview with popstar.com, and a Best of Sacramento Editors' Choice Award from Sacramento Magazine in the Nov 2009 issue. Cimorelli then began travelling to Los Angeles to do writing and recording.
